The Ten Commandments

The Ten Commandments are a set of rules or laws. The Bible says that God gave them to the people of Israel, written on stone tablets.

There are different versions of the commandments in the Bible. One version can be found in the Book of Exodus. Another version can be found in the Book of Deuteronomy.

These laws are important for Judaism and Christianity. However, they recognise different commandments. Countries which follow those religions often have some of the commandments as part of their civil laws.
